So needless to say if a galaxy class ship managed to get on top of a sovereign class and target some where nice and open such as main engineering section. As well fired up to 2 volleys of 5 photon torpedoes in one single assault. I was also thinking about how the galaxy class does have a few advantages over the sovereign class there for it appears that the galaxy class has to fire 4 of its main phaser arrays on a continuous burst at one concentrated spot. One of my favorite references is the Battle of Chin’toka when the USS Galaxy was attacked by the Cardassian orbital platforms. As was watching DS9 i see how the Galaxy glass ship can take tremendous amount of abuse and not be completely disabled. (toss 2 rocks at the darn ship and Gordi rolls up under the door and yell 2 mins till a warp core breach) LOL. Is was watching DS9 because TNG is a very bad reference. However, its superior sub-light speeds and armaments probably can make up the difference. In fact I bet without the shields the sovereign class hull is not too much stronger than a ambassador class (with ablative armor). However, While is was watching the star trek movies I can’t help but noticed how the hull rating can’t be that strong. and on nemesis a ridiculous amount of fire power (probably installed only on the 1701-E specifically to fight off a squad of war birds with out support.) I mean yeah it got it 17th century cannon style quantum torpedo launcher. and I wonder is the Sovereign class really as tough as it looks. I was thinking about ST:DS9 and ST: movies 7-10.
